When in contact with water, these hydrophilic waterstops expand and exert swelling pressure against the surrounding concrete, effectively sealing potential leak paths along construction joints. The resulting seal is continuous and long‑lasting, performing well in straight joints and around complex details such as pipe penetrations and fittings. Unlike conventional waterstops that depend mainly on adhesion, Arisons hydrophilic waterstops seal actively through expansion, making them highly adaptable for joints constructed with various materials.
Certification and Specifications
All products must meet certain classes of ASTM C1619, depending on the specifications for a project. Generally, sanitary projects will require EN CE 13956 Class A (standard rubber) or B (oil-resistant rubber) and stormwater projects will reference C1619 Class C (standard) or D (oil-resistant).
